Closed doors – Open hearts

We are currently not able to open our buildings for public worship – but that doe not mean the church is closed – far from it!

Ar hyn o bryd nid ydym yn gallu agor ein hadeiladau ar gyfer addoliad cyhoeddus – ond nid yw hynny’n golygu bod yr eglwys ar gau – ymhell ohoni! (Cymraeg isod)

Whilst under current government regulations we are able to hold public worship, on the advice of our Bishop and in recognising the huge increase in Covid cases in our area we have taken the decision to suspend all public worship in Dyffryn Clwyd for the time being. This was not an easy decision, nor has it be taken lightly, but if our sacrifice can help in reducing the spread of this pandemic then it is worth it. Please pray for Bishop Gregory and the Bench who have to make these difficult decisions.

While we will not be gathering we will, of course, continue to worship. We will ensure that every church in Dyffryn Clwyd is used and every community we serve will be prayed in and for. Services will be live-streamed daily on our Facebook page, 10am every weekday and 10.30am on a Sunday, following Sunday worship there will be a Zoom coffee and catch up at 11:45am, please get in touch for details.

Your clergy are here for you, please message us with any prayer requests and feel free to ‘phone any of us for support or just for a chat. Please do pray for us and for each other and our communities as we all weather this storm.

Tra ein bod o dan reoliadau cyfredol y llywodraeth yn gallu cynnal addoliad cyhoeddus, ar gyngor ein Hsgob ac wrth gydnabod y cynnydd enfawr mewn achosion Covid yn ein hardal rydym wedi penderfynu atal yr holl addoliad cyhoeddus yn Dyffryn Clwyd am y tro. Nid oedd hwn yn benderfyniad hawdd, ac nid yw wedi cael ei gymryd yn ysgafn, ond os gall ein haberth helpu i leihau lledaeniad y pandemig yna mae’n werth chweil. Gweddïwch dros yr Esgob Gregory a’r Fainc sy’n gorfod gwneud y penderfyniadau anodd hyn.

Er na fyddwn yn ymgynnull byddwn, wrth gwrs, yn parhau i addoli. Byddwn yn sicrhau bod pob eglwys yn Dyffryn Clwyd yn cael ei defnyddio a bydd pob cymuned rydyn ni’n ei gwasanaethu yn cael ei gweddïo yn ac o blaid. Bydd gwasanaethau’n cael eu ffrydio’n fyw bob dydd ar ein tudalen Facebook, 10am bob dydd o’r wythnos a 10.30am ar ddydd Sul, yn dilyn addoliad ar y Sul bydd coffi Chwyddo a dal i fyny am 11:45 am, cysylltwch am fanylion.

Mae eich clerigwyr yma i chi, anfonwch neges atom gydag unrhyw geisiadau gweddi ac mae croeso i chi ‘ffonio unrhyw un ohonom i gael cefnogaeth neu am sgwrs yn unig. Gweddïwch drosom ni ac dros ein gilydd a’n cymunedau wrth i ni i gyd oroesi’r storm hon.

A prayer of spiritual communion
Lord Jesus, I believe that you are truly present in the Holy Sacrament, and, since I cannot at this time receive communion, I pray you to come into my heart. I unite myself with you and embrace you with all my heart, my soul, and my mind. Let nothing separate me from you; let me serve you in this life until, by your grace, I come to your glorious kingdom and unending peace. Amen.

Gweddi Cymundeb ysbrydol
Arglwydd Iesu, credaf dy fod yn wirioneddol bresennol yn y Sacrament Sanctaidd, a chan na allaf ar hyn o bryd dderbyn cymun, atolwg i ti ddod i’m calon. Rwy’n uno fy hun gyda thi ac yn eich cofleidio â’m holl galon, enaid, a meddwl. Peidied dim â’m gwahanu oddi wrthyt; gadwa imi dy wasanaethu yn y bywyd hwn nes i mi, trwy dy ras, ddod i’th deyrnas ogoneddus a’th heddwch diderfyn. Amen.

Pilgrim Mass – 23rd January

Pilgrimage is an important part of the Christian life and over the next few Saturdays we will journey through the Churches of Dyffryn Clwyd North on a virtual pilgrimage. Join us virtually from the comfort of your own home and journey in mind and spirit through these Pilgrim Mass’

“There’s no discouragement shall make him once relent his first avowed intent to be a pilgrim” John Bunyan

A what?
Sounds very high church, pretty doubtful really;
an example of extremism, fanaticism…

I’m moderate,
measured,
middle of the road,
sound. Yes, sound,
I certainly don’t believe in shrines
and walking barefoot ‘til your feet blister.

And look at the lot who travelelled through the pages of Chauncer to Cantebury –
hypocritical, greedy, immoral.
Pilgrimage is a hotbead, a breeding ground for trouble.

So unsuitable
for moderate, measured, middle-of-the-road me.

But
where are you going?
What are you seeking?
Are you sure it’s safe, and sound… and sound? I’d like to travel on as well:
it’s not quite my ‘avowed intent’
but maybe I’ll take a step or two.

Only
let’s not call it pilgrimage.
It’s just a journey,
my journey.
And I’m seeking,
going towards….
but keeping in the middle of the road, just in case…
